A Few Pics of Our House

We got a new rug, a new lamp, new pillows and a new mirror.
New barstools(thanks mom.) and a new table(Solid Wood! We got a sweet deal at DI!) ...we still need chairs though. :o)

I love these glass food containers. I like using glass because it is less porous than plastic and for the most part, you don't have to worry about BPA chemicals. :o)

...we're also in the process of putting brushed silver knobs and handles on the cabinets.

Our Heritage

Abraham Milner
Grandma Milner
Grandma Pam

For the cousins

Zackary wanted all of you to see his latest lizard catch, Speedy. He is living happily with, Hopper, the toad, and Spotted, the leopard gecko.  Target, the toadlet, was accidentally let go as Daddy (Uncle Sam) was unloading the garage and putting everything back from Gustav's visit.

When we evacuated we set Bobby, our cat, up in the kids bathroom upstairs and we thought he would like to look at the lizard/toad tank so we put it with him on the counter.  He liked listening to the crickets, that is what they all eat, and watching them hunt and gobble up the crickets.  We bought lots of crickets at the pet store before the hurricane so we could make sure they wouldn't starve while we were gone.

I hope you like looking at the lizard.  You can come to our house in Louisiana and see the tank, it's outside in the back yard.  Come visit soon.

Love,
Zack

An Abegg Update

Well, it's been quite busy around here. I finished all of my classes, so I am officially graduated from college. Yeah! :o) Dane has 6 more classes to go and he will be done in April. Dane decided to get his degree in English Literature, rather than English Education. We are changing directions a bit and seeing what comes of it. We continue to add little updates to our townhome and are trying to get it ready to have some renters within the next year or so. We have contemplated going back east and working for the summer or spending some time in Europe. All good options, we'll just have to see what feels best, when we make our final decisions. Regardless, we have been enjoying figuring things out and gearing up for new possibilities.
:o) I thought that I would add a picture of Dane's cooking. I have come home to a cooked meal, more often than I have cooked a meal, myself!

Great Grandma's Chili

Ellie _loves_ to help me in the kitchen.  It's especially fun when we get to make a Great Grandma dish.  I love to pass on history with food, there is something great about Grandma's cookin'!  We love you Grandma and Grandpa Milner :o)  Uh-oh now I am craving Grandpa's brisket and I don't think I can wait until Christmas.  Hmm Christmas brisket, or "cow meat, yum!" as the boys like to say it.  Now I am drooling on my computer.

The tooth fairy has been here

Well it finally happened Zack lost his first tooth. I tried to glue it back in and keep him little but it didn't work, not even Gorilla Glue. He's ecstatic. I can't believe he's 7 and losing baby teeth, I will go have a good cry. It might seem crazy but I really do wish I could push pause right now and keep them all just like this forever.

My 'New' Old Dresser

We sanded down and restained an old antique dresser of mine. We are really proud of the way it turned out. There are some areas where the original wood coloring shows through, that give it just the look we were going for. We plan on filling our house with old unique pieces that we restore. :o)

Quick Trip to Ogden Airport

Justin and Jaden left early this morning to fly w/ a friend of ours to the Ogden Airport to see some old war airplanes that are still up and running.. they had a great time.. Jaden loved sitting in the cockpit and pretending that he was the pilot.. Justin said that when they first took off he was kind of nervous because they were over Utah Lake and he said that he wanted to go back.. Once Justin reminded him that he would be safe and they wouldn't FALL into the Lake then he was all fine...

Thought of the Day

"Mercies and blessings come in different forms--sometimes as hard things. Yet the Lord said, 'Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things' (D&C 59:7). All things means just that: good things, difficult things--not just some things. He has commanded us to be grateful because He knows being grateful will make us happy. This is another evidence of His love.

Just a little shout out to my siblings...

My fondest memories...

Amy - When we were kids I used to always sneak into your bed to sleep with you and Dad would always catch me and make me go back to my bed but I would still try. Also I remember you always conned me into tickling your back.

Justin - When you ran the last .2 miles of the St. George Marathon with me!

Aaron - Playing in the big tree in the house by the Provo Temple. You made me my very own seat to sit on and I loved it!!!

Mary Ann - When you ran the Thanksgiving Day run with me in Orem. Running is such a passion of mine and it meant a lot to me that you did it with me!!!

Kanyon Russell Gwilliam

Like the discovery of the first working light bulb (with the flip of a switch) we became different people. We are now the proudest parents ever!!! We now understand what a positive life-changing event we have been working towards these last 9 months! My hat goes off to my fellow parents. We are all truly blessed! We can't wait to show him off at MaryAnn's Graduation! Thank you for the prayers and strength we felt you all radiating towards us. We couldn't have done it without our Family of Friends.

Love and Miss You all!

Cynthia, Aaron and of course Kanyon
