Katie-
I used the Admin Privileges to update our "Fishers" picture, but the picture looks so big...do you know how to make it smaller to match the rest?

On Baby Watch!

Yes, it has been quite some time since we've checked in here...nine months to be sure! We just passed our due date on Dec. 1 and are excitedly awaiting the arrival of our little babe. However, I may be encouraging this extending pregnancy, as I am quite content with the state of things, and am not sure I want this pregnancy bliss to end~We've been enjoying this time of setting-up our little nest!

We'll keep you posted with the arrival!

Love,

Shay and Dave

delectable alfredo after a busy day

After a great Thanksgiving feast yesterday, today we ventured out into the madhouse of black Friday shopping. It was incredibly busy, and after we got home tonight we decided to make fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, using the yummy sauce recipe Katie gave us. It is one of our favorites... we're going to finish up with our cherry pie we made from scratch for dessert!!!

Love for Uncle Justin

Tonight we had a race for pj's and teethbrushing (a very good motivator for kids that don't want to go to bed!) When Zack bounded down the stairs and said "Mom, LOOK!" I naturally said, "Wow! Are you the first one?" To which he replied, "That's not it Mom, look (pointing to his pajamas plastered with fighter jet planes) I'm uncle Justin because he's a pilot!" He was quite pleased with himself and ran to tell Dad too.

Love,
Amy

The kids had a great time "Trick or Treating". However we did miss "our Dad".. Hope you all had a great one.

Halloween

Reeslyn couldn't decide which was more fun, handing out the candy to the trick or treaters or getting candy when she was trick or treating. Mallory just handed out candy with me and yes this is the only picture I was able to get of her with her costume on because the wings and antenna came off soon after it was taken.

An extremely cozy couch, a really busy Saturday and a piano lesson ...

Saturday was one of those days that you just don't like to have, overscheduled with half of us going one way and half the other. By 8:10am I already wanted to go back to bed (yeah it was that bad!) but it was off to vote for me and then straight to piano for Zack.

As I sat on the cozy couch in that wonderful place where you have so many things to do but there is nothing you can do about them at the moment so you let it all go, you know those moments, my eyes were drawn to what I can only describe as a Norman Rockwell moment. ...

An enormous grand piano with two little legs hanging underneath crossed at the ankle, swinging effortlessly and joyfully with a pair of big teacher legs beside while a beautiful Sonatina duet steals me away.

It was one of those moments you wish you could capture but when you try it just doesn't quite feel the same. I suppose because in trying to capture it you've lost some of it already, funny thing. Anyway, it is a pleasure to be Zackary's Mom and to hear the beautiful music he plays and composes.

Today was a special treat as well. It was the Primary Program (at church once a year the primary children put on a 1 hour program for the sacrament, or worship service, part of our three hour block of meetings) and Zackary and Jacob had solos and special reading parts. They both did so well. They were confident and calm and sang so beautifully in front of about 300 people. I am not sure if I have ever smiled so big ever! Being a Primary teacher I get to sit on the stand with them so I could see Sam, and amidst the circus of Ellie and Addie he too had a sizeable grin :o)

Love to you all and happy parenthood!!

Amy :o)

Jake's Art Gallery

If I had a digital camera I could send a picture but instead I'll paint you a picture with words :o)

Jake decided a while back that he was going to build sculptures of dinosaurs with little rocks. We took one of our rock collecting walks today with our Halloween pumpkins and while we were out we saw quite a few people. It was so cute, he told each one all about his whole process and how "it makes me a paleontologist like my brother, but I am going to be an astronaut and go to space too." One lady invited him to come pick through her rock garden and find some special ones. He was so thrilled and was telling her all about the different pieces of fossilized bone that each one would work for. He was just beaming!

Most of the rocks are no bigger than a pea and when we get home he sits on the front porch with them all dumped out and meticulously works with them until he has it just right. He really works very hard at it and when he's done it looks amazingly like a dinosaur. What a cute little artist and quite the conversationalist as well!

Kids are so great,
Amy :o)

Ellie is at it again...

The kids and some friends were out playing with water guns and the like and when clean-up and dinner-time call came they were less than thrilled. Zack and Jake rogered-up pretty quickly but Ellie pulled out all the stops.

Long story short we were almost done with dinner when she finally decided, after a few time-outs and getting her pjs on for bed, that she would in fact clean-up all Jake's rocks she had dumped out all over the front porch.

After a while Sam went out to check on her (things were going a little too well if you know what I mean) She was cleaning up alright ... along with the help of two second grade boys!!

While we are not sure of her exact tactics we imagine it went something like this ...

Standing in her 'Ellie pose' with her weight shifted mostly on one hip, with a very pretty two dimpled smile resting on her perfect complexioned blue eyed face with her lovely curly blond hair waving in the wind, she offered her famous and extremely adorable "Hi guys!" and the rest was history. Including two second grade boys groveling on the ground picking up every last rock!

Let's just say that we completely realize that if she's like this at two we are in for the ride of our lives :o) Our only hope is that Addie doesn't learn from her. If you all want to start a fund so that we can send her to some all girls school in Antarctica that would be great!

Oh it's great to be parents :o)
Amy and Sam :o)

Ellie

Most of you are familiar with the Barney song, "I Love You" - if not you are missing out!! Ellie heard it for the first time a couple of months ago and has been obsessed with it. She sings it all the time and we have this toy that plays the tune that she carries around constantly. (I hid it the other day, don't tell her) So, she knows it and loves it to say the least.

Today as she was jumping on the bed with Jake while I folded laundry she started singing it, or so I thought. It was the correct tune, but the words were different. It's not uncommon for her to make up her own songs so I didn't think much of it at the time. A little later she started again and I paid closer attention this time. My sweet little make-up loving, purse carrying, 'pretty hair', cell phone obsessed princess was singing ...

"I love shoes, I love shoes, I love shoes, oh I love shoes, I want lots and lots of shoes oh yes I do - I love shoes oh I love shoes.

After I thought I figured it out (and stopped rolling on the floor) I repeated it back and asked her if that was her song. She did her little shy face with a big smile and said, "I love pretty shoes Mommy"

Yes that is Ellie in a nutshell. The funniest part about it is that I have no idea where she gets it from - I don't own a cell phone, am rearely even on the phone, don't carry a purse, have two pairs of 'pretty shoes' that come out on Sundays only, put make-up on about once a week on average, 99% of the time I am barefoot, and have diagnosed myself with an allergy to shoppping (I'd much rather mow the lawn or sew some curtains). So whoever is telepathing these girly princess messages better stop it or send some money along with!! :o)

Sam, you can start looking for that part time job we were discussing!!
Hope you all enjoyed this moment. I did and wanted to share.
Have a great day!
Amy :o)

Shannon and Dave

Shannon and the Baby took their first ride on a motorcycle last night.
My Dad is in town and doing some amazing work on the house - and i do mean amazing - and he took them over on the Goldwing. As you can tell by the pictures it was a classic moment.
After a hard days work, I caught a picture of the moon right over the new abode. Just Beautiful - can't wait to get moved in. We plan to move next week and then onward to the mountain I go.
Love to thee
-Dave

The Lockharts

Hello Family,

Amy just phoned with news that Sam received orders for New Orleans, and asked that I send an email letting you all know.
As the call came in this morning it is still fresh news and Amy was trying to look on the bright side and not there yet.
I get that she would appreciate a call from family to feel supported in this adventure.

989-893-0339 is Amy's home phone and they may be leaving as early as tomorrow morning heading towards New Orleans.
They have no cell phone at this time.

Neil and I were up at 4:11 participating in the world-wide meditation.
We love you all.

But I want her back when she's done throwing her fit.

Mallory is upset because I wouldn't let her drink the chocolate out of the Hershey's chocolate syrup bottle, I know I'm so mean!

Justin and Di- if you have an updated picture of your family send it to my e-mail and I will change the one I have on there.

Well Jocelyn is busy into everything now that she is crawling. She loves to bug Jaden and always want his toy (she doesn't like the girl toys). Justin calls her our "line backer". Jaden is wanting to be anywhere someone is working. He is known as the "neighbor hired hand" we beg him to just go and play but no he wants to help everyone whether it is hauling dirt, laying sod or cleaning out your garage. We are loving finally having the fence up so we don't have unknown visitors looking into the back window while Justin is trying to eat his cereal in his underwear. No word yet of Captain for Justin we are hoping it will come at least in the next few months ( I am just praying for sometime this year). He is wanting to go back and finish up with school and go into Management for SkyWest.....So who knows maybe we will start calling St. George home (long ways down the road). Justin is still serving in the Elders Quorum and is loving it. I am enjoying being at home a lot more and still doing the two days a week of work.

Summer Time Fun!

Hello everyone, what great idea this is!

We just enjoyed celebrating our one year anniversary with a fun trip to Park City for the weekend. Dane, the little creative genious that he is, sent me on a scavenger hunt around town to all of our favorite hang-out's until I found out the surprise of Park City. :o) We had a wonderful time and are loving each other!!!

Well, Dane and I are busy, busy bee's keeping up on our school work and jobs. Dane is really enjoying his new position on the grounds crew and couldn't ask for a better way to get paid! He gets to mow lawns, plant flowers, drive a round a mini go-cart truck and a 4-wheeler! We feel extremely blessed with the benefits it brings and now that he's full-time, it means free tuition for both of us...this is where I come in. :o) Thanks to Dane's new job, I cut back my hours at work and am only going in two days a week. I am taking full advantage of the "free" school card; finishing up 3 classes yesterday and starting a new one today! It feels great to put my mind to work and continue accomplishing my dream of having a college degree.

If all goes as planned, I will be finished with my under graduate work in April or June. Dane starts up again full-time in January, working towards his Secondary Ed degree and also researching the option of taking advantage of an "ARL" program that would allow him to start teaching high school english while finishing up his schooling.

A lot of options and a lot of fun figuring out what to do! We love you all!

Marriage, Baby & House...Who Knew!!!

Katie, thanks for putting this site together for all of us! It's so great to stay in touch this way and it makes the miles between each of us seem a lot less.

We're almost 17 weeks pregnant now, and loving it! My belly is just starting to show (I'll post some new pics soon) and Dave and I are very excited. We are currently looking for our first house in Sacramento were we can start to nest a little and get ready for our babe. Our life is transforming at warp speed and it's taking all of our energy to keep up!

Dave is working very hard and enjoying his job at Kaiser Permanente and I am enjoying taking care of all our business from home. I'll be going back to work for a couple of months before the baby comes (due date 12/1/07), but after that I'll be staying home to find out what being a mommy is all about! Can't wait for that.

I just changed my personal email address to: fisher.shan@gmail.com

Hope you're all having fun in the sun!

Neil and Pam on the move again! Yeah!

Hello Everyone,
What a wonderful world where we can connect like this.
Neil and I are almost packed and in storage thanks to Aaron and Cynthia.

Neil's new phone number is 714-225-9931 and mine is still 801-599-8713.
What excitement this last few months has brought for us. A new job for Neil and a new job for me.
Aaron and Cynthia moving to Salt Lake. Dave and Shannon getting married and having a baby. Mike and Andrea dating and having fun. Amy and Sam moving to Georgia. Justin and Di creating a wonderful home while Justin flies and Di makes beautiful smiles and they both love on those kids.

I now have a Palm phone and Justin may be proud that I can even turn it on. (he has played video games with me)!
Ojai feels like home for us now and we look forward to seeing all of you over the summer either at your place or ours.
Love Mom and Dad, Neil and Pam

I will Start

We went swimming today and Reeslyn starting putting her head under the water for the first time which is huge for her and then she decided she was brave enough to even jump off the diving board! Mallory fell in again, she does this just about everytime we go swimming because she loves the water so much and is always so anxious to get in but obviously I am right there everytime to get her right out (Russ saved her this time). Russ is graduating from PA school on Aug 4! We are so excited for him and proud of this huge accomplishment!
